User roles and permissions

A user is an account that identifies the person accessing Magnolia.

Within Heraeus all magnolia users have a specific AD-role, so just the Heraeus mail address identifies the user and its role in magnolia with a single-sign-on process.

Within the magnolia Heraeus Web solution, for each Operating Company there are three types of users available:

  • OpCo KeyUser

  • OpCo Publisher

  • OpCo Author

Roles are steering the level of granular access that focus on functions or app in magnolia.

In the following we will give you an overview about the permissions of each user type:

Role-HWeb-{OpCo}-KeyUser

  • Allowed to edit all content pages and elements of the website domain.
  • Allowed to edit global settings of a website domain (header, footer, global labels).
  • Allowed to approve or reject changes to the content and global website settings.
  • Allowed to publish.
Publisher Role-HWeb-{OpCo}-Publisher
  • Allowed to edit all content pages of the website domain.
  • Allowed to approve or reject changes to the content.
  • Allowed to publish.
Author Role-HWeb-{OpCo}-Author
  • Allowed to edit all content pages of the website domain.
  • Send approval request to publisher or key user.
  • No direct publishing allowed.
